David Moore Agricultural Scholarship Fund
The David Moore Agricultural Fund is an educational endowment founded in memory of David L Moore.
David was born in to farming and spent many of his early years gaining experience in production, packing, and shipping potatoes, cotton and other crops. As he raised his family and farmed the land his father established, he stayed very involved within agricultural politics and his local trade groups. This culminated in to his acquisition of the CEO position for Western Growers Association. David’s larger-than-life personality affected many individuals within the agricultural community, and through this scholarship, his legacy lives on.
The David Moore Agricultural Scholarship is given to the most qualified student in the Kern County area who wishes to pursue a degree in the field of agriculture. Committee members are interested in well-rounded students that will not only master their particular field, but will serve as leaders to preserve agriculture on a local to global scale.
